Dzongri is a popular peak of Sikkim. Dzongri Trek is considered as one of the most excellent trekking destinations in the North-Eastern India.

Dzongri is a popular mountain peak of Sikkim which is often visited by the tourists who want to enjoy trekking on this mountain peak at an altitude of 4,200 meters. The sights of the milky white peaks all around Dzongri are bound to keep one gazing with awe. Dzongri has become one of the most popular tourist spots of Sikkim.

Location of Dzongri
Located at West Sikkim, this is one of the most attractive tourist spots that views the picturesque snow clad peaks at Dzongri and the magnificent rhododendron forests that cover the mountain peak.

Trekking at Dzongri
Trekking has been the biggest excitement of the region. The trek to Dzongri is among the tougher ones in Sikkim. Trekking permits are available at the Tourism offices in Gangtok. The trekking starts to Dzongri from Kanchenjunga National Park in Yuksom in West Sikkim. The trekkers are provided with still cameras, a guide and yaks which are required for the journey. The trek usually takes five days. Sikkim tourism has constructed wooden trekking huts for the trekkers to make it more convenient. Yuksom is about 6 hours drive from the nearest railway station at New Jalpaiguri and nearest airport is at Bagdogra.

Best Season to Visit Dzongri
The best season to visit the place is during the month of mid March–April and then in the month of September–October. In the rest of the year the place is covered with either snowfall or monsoon rains.
