Sirmaur is a charming town with temples, gardens and long, winding walking tracks.

Sirmaur or Sirmour is situated in south-eastern area of Himachal Pradesh. It is also well-known as the ‘Peach bowl of India’. Due to its different pictorial locations and a favourable climate, the town is one of the top holiday-maker destinations in Himachal Pradesh. The place has three significant tourist locations- Nahan, Renuka Lake and Paonta Sahib. Sirmaur is legendary for its pilgrimages. Nahan serves as the district headquarters. It is a quaint town with temples, gardens and long, winding walking tracks etc.

Paonta Sahib is the holy city, dedicated to the memory of Guru Gobind Singh, considered one of the most exclusive pilgrimages by the Sikhs. Renuka, a sacred and pictorial lake, is one of the most breathtaking lakes in the shape of a sleeping woman. The main religions in Sirmaur comprise Hinduism and Islam. Other tourist destinations include Trilokpur Temple, Giri Nagar, Kafota, Gayatri Temple and Renuka Sanctuary.

History of Sirmaur
Sirmaur was an autonomous sovereignty in India, founded in about 1090 by Raja Rasaloo of Jaisalmer. It became an 11 Gun Salute princely state in British India. The premier ruler of the Punjab Hills, situated in the region is now the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh. The state was also famous as Nahan, after its main city, Nahan. Renuka Ji Temple: Renuka Ji Temple is situated near popular Renuka Pond. Renuka Ji Temple is the most significant place of spiritual and tourist interest in Sirmour District. This place has a well-known lake. This sacred square shaped lake has an area of 2.4 kilometres. Parshu Ram Lake is located near Renuka which loosely look like a human figure.

Mata Bala Sundari Temple: Mata Bala Sundari Temple is regarded to be the Bal Roop or young copy of Mata Vaishno Devi. This temple is very popular. The temple like many other temples in Himachal has a wonderful style all around and it draws many tourists all through the season. The Mata in the temple has three kinds of continuation.

Jaganath Temple: It is famous for its locations of pilgrimages. Jaganath temple was designed by Raja Budh Prakash in 1681 A.D. It has wonderful natural jungles and valleys especially in Choordhar optimum.

Maa Bhangayani Temple: This temple has a history that unites Maa Bhangayni to Chureshwar Mahadev. This temple is dedicated to Bhangayani Devi and a famous temple in Himachal Pradesh.
