Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport is located in Leh, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The airport is presently used as a commercial airport with the highest altitude at 10,682 ft. Airlines served by the airport are Indian (Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu, Srinagar), Jet Airways (Delhi), Air Deccan (Delhi). Security in Leh Airport is predominating due to problems of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Hand baggage on flights departing from Leh, is not permitted. In addition to it, a significant number of police and jawans always are present to look after the airport. All flights in Leh, due to the presence of strong mountain winds in the afternoon, take off and land in the morning, around 7:00 AM.
