Kannadipuzha River is an important confluent of the Bharatpuzha River. The Bharatpuzha River is the second largest river in Kerala. The river rises from the foothills of the Anamalai hills, which is a range of mountain in southern India located in the eastern fringes of Palakkad district of Kerela.
The Kannadipuzha River flows through the southern borders of Palakkad town before joining the Bharatpuzha River. The Kannadipuzha River along with the other two tributaries of the Bharatpuzha River, Kalpathipuzha and Gayatripuzha irrigate a certain portion of the Palakkad district. This region is called the ' rice bowl' of India. The tributaries of the Kannadipuzha River are Plar, Aliyar and Uppar.
