Kolkewadi Dam, Maharashtra

Kolkewadi Dam, MaharashtraKolkewadi Dam or Kolkiwadi Dam is included in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, India. The Kolkewadi Dam is an integral part of the Koyna Dam hydroelectric project. The Kolkewadi Dam benefits the extended region of Kolkiwadi, three kilometres near the village of Alore, near Chiplun.

The popular company Alstrom operates close to this Kolkewadi Dam. The Maharashtra State Electricity Board, also known as the MSEB, caters to the electricity requirements of the dam. The area behind the Kolkewadi dam is one of the most sparsely populated regions of Maharashtra.
