The Vara Ganapati form is considered as the one who gives boons. This is a Tantric form of the deity. Vara Ganapati the eighteenth form among the thirty-two forms of Lord Ganesha. He is portrayed in red complexion and has three eyes with a crescent moon above his head, like Lord Shiva. This form of Lord is accompanied by His consort Pushti Devi (Shakti). She is seated on His left lap and has four arms. Pushti Devi carries a lotus and a flag. The elephant-headed god carries a dish made from honey in His main right hand and gently embraces His consort with the main left hand. The upper left hand carries a noose while the upper right hand holds an elephant goad or ankusha. The trunk of Vara Ganapati is curled to the right and holds a Ratnakumbha which is a sacred pot containing gemstones and jewels.
The form of Lord Ganesha</b> can be pleased easily through worship and devotion. The deity fulfills all the wishes of His devotees. Some of the most visited temples of Lord Vara Ganapati are Nanganallur Anjaneya Temple in Chennai, Tamil Nadu; Shri Renuka Yellamma Devi Temple in Belgaum, Karnataka; and the Ganesha temples of Nanjangud and Chamarajanagar in Mysore, Karnataka.
The devotees of the Lord recite the Vara Ganapati Mantra regularly in His worship. The sacred hymn is mentioned below-
Sindhoorabhimabhananam Trinayam Haste Cha Pashankushou
Bibhranam Madhumat Kapalamanisham Sadhivindumouli Bhaje
Pushtyashilshyathatanum Dhvajagrakarayaa Padyollasadhastyaa
Tadhyonyahita Panimattamasumata Patrollasat Pushkaram.
