United Provinces Horse (Southern Regiment)
United Provinces Light Horse (Southern Regiment) was a cavalry unit of the British Indian Army. It was raised in 1904 as United Provinces Light Horse regiment.
The United Provinces Light Horse was re-designated as the 1st United Provinces Horse regiment on 1st April 1909. It was later renamed again on 1st April 1917 as the 7th (Southern Regiment) United Provinces Horse. The British Indian Army reformed the unit and on 1st October 1920, it was titled as the United Provinces Horse (Southern Regiment).
The uniform of the troops of the military unit included khaki formal dress and the military badge had the inscription "Relief of Lucknow, 1857".
