Sooraj Barjatya, Bollywood Director Sooraj Barjatya is the Indian film director Sooraj Barjatya hails from Rajasthan and is a Marwari. He is a famous for his landmark productions produces under the Rajshri productions founded by his late grandfather Tarachand Barjatya in 1947.Sooraj Barjatya is the name that Bollywood banks upon as and when Bollywood family dramas and love films are taken into consideration.

Career of Sooraj Barjatya
Sooraj Barjatya made his directorial debut with `Maine Pyar Kiya` in the year 1989 starring Salman Khan and Bhagyashree which was a huge box office hit and launched both his and Salman`s career. He teamed up with Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit for `Hum Aapke Hain Kaun` in 1994 which became one of the biggest blockbusters of the Indian cinema and set many records. In 1999 he directed a multi starrer film `Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United` which was a semi-hit. The songs of the film were very popular. His fourth film was `Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon` starring Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor. This film did not fare well at the box office and perhaps for the first time his movie was a flop. He later came back with his latest film `Vivah` in 2006 starring Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao, which has proved to be one of the biggest blockbusters in his career since `Hum Aapke Hain Kaun.` He has always named the male protagonist of all his films as `Prem`. Director Sooraj Barjatya has written almost all the films of his career as for example `Vivah`, `Hum aapke hain Kaun`, `Maine Pyar Kiya`, etc.
