Sharda Teerth
Sharda Teerth is a venerated pilgrim spot located in Kuwara district
Sharda Teerth is dedicated to Kashyap (son of Marichi, who married Daksha Prajapati`s 13 daughters, father of devas, asuras, nagas and mankind,) one of the great prophets believed to be the creator of Kashmir. However, sadly, due to age, the Sharda Teerth has reduced down to ruins. The teerth is approachable through Haihom Drung Pass, 10km north of Kupwara, on the Lashdut Mountain. Putukhan Pass is a foremost route for the saints visiting the Sharda Teerth.
