Samosharan Temple

Samosharan Temple is a holy temple for the Jains, which is located in Pawapuri in Bihar. It is located to a distance of 101 km from Patna. Lord Mahavira used to deliver sermon to his disciples. The place is famous as the site where he preached during last days of his life.

Structure of Samosharan Temple
It is a temple made of white marble and in circular shape in the form of beehive. The temple also contains the footprints of Lord Mahavira. The creation of Samosharan Temple is done by four kinds of Gods when a Tirthankara attains Keval Gyan (complete knowledge). This immensely beautiful development is done so that all and sundry on Earth, Sky and Water can hear the Tirthankara"s speech. Close to this temple there lies the "Jal Mandir", the place from where Lord Mahavira left the earth and his body was burnt to ashes at about 500 BC.
