Rahul Dev, Indian Movie ActorRahul Dev, also known as Rahul Dev Samra, is an Indian film actor primarily active in Hindi and South Indian film industries. He is also a former model. His chiselled features and unconventional rugged looks have rendered him much popularity as antagonists in Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Odiya, Tamil and Telugu action films. In addition to films, he has also worked for the Indian television.

Early Life of Rahul Dev
Rahul Dev was born on 27th September 1968 in Saket region of Delhi to a Khatri Punjabi family. His father was a police commissioner of Delhi by profession. Rahul Dev completed his schooling from St. Columba`s School, Delhi. In school he used to play cricket as a fast bowler. Former cricket player Gursharan Singh, who occasionally coached at St. Columba`s when saw his performance in cricket got impressed and asked him to join his academy. But back then, Rahul wanted to concentrate on studies.

Rahul Dev was set to make his cinematic debut as an actor in Mukul S. Anand"s 1997 film "Dus" essaying the role of the main villain. However when the film was in production stage, the director unfortunately died leaving the movie incomplete and unreleased. Subsequently Rahul Dev made his debut with the 2000 film "Champion" portraying a villainous role which got him nominated for the 2001 Filmfare Best Villain Award. Following this, Rahul Dev essayed antagonistic or supporting roles in most of his films; however his villainous roles emerged as his forte. He also appeared as a villain in the Punjabi movie "Dharti" in 2011. He stepped into Malayalam films with Amal Neerad"s "Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded". In December 2013, Rahul Dev ventured into Indian television through a mythological TV series "Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev" in which he played the role of demon "Arunasur".

Rahul Dev has also been associated with social activities. He starred in an advertisement released by PETA for critical of the conditions in, and practices of, Indian zoos. Volunteering for the ad, he appeared in spotted body paint resembling a cheetah.

Personal Life of Rahul Dev
Rahul Dev was married to Rina since 11 years, however his wife died of cancer on 16 May 2009. He has a son named Siddharth. His brother Mukul Dev is also associated with the entertainment industry as an actor.

In the year 2004, Rahul Dev won Zee Cine Award for Best Villain for his remarkable performance in the movie "Footpath".
