Parshata

Parshata was the son of Prishata and was a mighty car warrior. His role has been mentioned in the Karna Parva of Mahabharata.

In the Indian Puranas, Parshata is mentioned as the son of Prishata, the patronymic of Raja Drupada. Prishata was one of the emperors of the lunar dynasty of the branch of Puru. Karna Parva in Mahabharata mentions his name as a mighty warrior. According to this Parva, the mighty car-warrior Parshata went forward against the Kaurava troops like a blazing fire towards a pile of dry grass. The Suta`s son, who was also in that battle, began to murder the mighty archers amongst the Pancalas, the Kaikayas, and the Srinjayas, in large numbers. Really, the three mighty car-warriors namely Partha and Vrikodara and Karna, began to eradicate the samsaptakas, the Kauravas, and the Pancalas, respectively. The arrows of Drona`s son deeply pierced the brave son of Prishata at the end. Those arrows piercing through the armour became bathed in blood.
