Panduranga Swamy Temple

Panduranga Swamy Temple is an ancient Hindu temple located in Chilakalapudi, Machilipatnam in Krishna District in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. In 1929 Sri Bhakta Narasimham laid the foundation stone of the temple. The devotee, blessed with three children, was born in Vishakhapatnam district at Bobili Mandalam. His eldest grandsons, Pandurangarao and Shiva, served as the preachers at this temple, imparting religious messages to the devotees assembling in the temple premises. The temple, adorned with its rich history and cultural traits passed down through generations, exerts a spiritual significance among the denizens of Machilipatnam.

The presiding deity of the temple is Panduranga Swamy. An idol of Sri Abhayanjaneya Swami referred to as an incarnation of Lord Hanuman has been installed in front of the Lord. The central deity of the temple and the garbhagriha bears a close resemblance the Pandaripur Temple. During the Hindu month of Kartika the temple celebrates a grand festival drawing hordes of pilgrims from different corners.

Panduranga Swamy Temple is well connected by different modes of transport. Tourists visiting the temple can avail the regular bus and auto services plying form different places for the temple. The Chilakalpudi railway station is the nearest railway station located at a distance of almost 1 km from the temple. However, it is advisable to reach Machilipatnam first and then depart for the temple located 5 km away from there.
