Northern Bengal State Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps

Northern Bengal State Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps was formed in 1879 under the British Indian Army. It was a part of the Volunteer Corps under the British Indian Army.

The Northern Bengal State Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps an infantry regiment of the Volunteer Corps under the British Indian Army. The British auxiliary regiment was a part of the Bengal Army which was one the 3 main Presidency Armies in British India. The Bengal Army was the armed forces of Bengal Presidency. It was also a part of the Bengal Command. The Northern Bengal State Railway Volunteer Rifles included official personnel from the Northern Bengal State Railway which was one of the first metre gauge lines to be established.

The Northern Bengal State Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps was formed on 24th January 1879 under the British Indian Army. Later in 1882, the army unit was merged with the Eastern Bengal State Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps.
