No. 3 (Bombay) Fortress Company

The No. 3 (Bombay) Fortress Company operated under the British Colonial Auxiliary Forces. The unit was one of the former British Indian Engineer companies of the British Indian Army. The Volunteer Corps regiment served under the Bombay Army which was part of the Presidency Armies in British India. It was based in Bombay (Mumbai) in the state of Maharashtra.

The No. 3 (Bombay) Fortress Company was formed with the troops of the Bombay Volunteer Artillery on 1st April 1902 by the British Empire in India. On 1st April 1917, it was designated as the No. 3 Electrical Engineer Company. Later on 1st October 1920, the auxiliary military battalion was again renamed as the No. 3 (Bombay) Field Company. Eventually the company was regrouped and reformed and was titled as the No. 3 (Bombay) Fortress Company on 13th April 1933.
