No.13 (Lucknow) Field Battery

No.13 (Lucknow) Field Battery was one of the erstwhile artillery units of the British Indian Army. It was a regiment of the British Indian Auxiliary Forces. The No.13 (Lucknow) Field Battery was raised on 10th August 1865 as the Oudh Volunteer Rifle Corps by the British Empire in India. The army unit was re-structured on 10th January 1872 and was renamed as the Lucknow Volunteer Rifle Corps.

The No.13 (Lucknow) Field Battery was re-designated several times. It was titled as the Oudh Volunteer Rifle Corps on 6th June 1884 and on 24th July 1903 it was again renamed as the Lucknow Volunteer Rifles. On 1st April 1917, the battalion was reformed and regrouped and was designated as the 5th (Lucknow) Group Garrison Artillery.

On 1st October 1920, the artillery company was designated as the VI. (Lucknow) Field Brigade. Finally in the year 1933, the regiment was named as the No.13 (Lucknow) Field Battery
