Narayur Sidheeswaram Temple

Narayur Sidheeswaram Temple is 65th in the series of Tevara Stalams located south of the river Kaveri.

Temple: This temple is a maadakkovil built at an elevation. It was worshipped by the Sidhas, hence the name Sidheeswaram. Vinayakar here is known as Aanda Pillayar. The Brahmma Theertham tank is to the north of the temple. Shiva is called Vedalingam. The suns rays illuminate the sanctum for three days in the months of Aquarius and Leo. Legend states that Shiva was worshipped by Kubera, the gods and the Gandharvas, Surya, Nara-Narayana and Brahma, and the Vedas.

Temple: It has two prakarams and occupies an area of an acre. It has a five-tiered Rajagopuram. There are two theertams here the Soola Theertham and Bhrama Theertham. This temple was rebuilt during Uttama Chola (10th century). The bronze image of Natarajar is from the period of Sembiyan Mahadevi. Inscriptions from the period of Uttama Chola, Raja Raja I and other Cholas are seen here.

Festivals: The annual Brahmmotsavam is celebrated in the month of Pankuni. Other festivals celebrated here are Arudra Darisanam, Kartikai deepam, Navaratri, Skanda Sashti and Vinayaka Chaturthi.
