Museums of KeralaThe state of Kerala is located in the southern part of India, more specifically, on the Malabar Coast. National Geographic`s Traveller Magazine labeled Kerala as one of the "ten paradises of the world" in the year 2012. Kerala`s beaches, backwaters, lakes, mountain ranges, waterfalls, ancient ports and religious institutions have lent beauty and popularity to the state. This state is also known for its rich traditional arts and architecture. Its culture and traditions along with its varied demographics have turned this state into one of the most popular tourist destinations of India. The museums of Kerala further adds to the glory of the state, attracting tourists from all over the country.

The Hill Palace Archaeological Museum, Kerala Science and Technology Museum and Kerala Folklore Museum are located in the suburb of a major port city of India namely, Kochi. Museums of KeralaThe Napier Museum and Kuthiramalika Palace Museum are housed in Trivandrum, the capital and largest city of Kerala. The village of Kumarakom, which is a part of the cluster of little islands in Kottayam district, serves as a home to a museum called the Bay Island Driftwood Museum. A museum called the Archaeological Museum is located in Thrissur, a revenue district of Kerala. The Pazhassi Raja Archaeological Museum and Krishna Menon Museum are situated in the city of Kozhikode. The Arrakkal Museum is located near Kannur in North Malabar.

Exhibits of Museums of Kerala
The museums of Kerala depict the ancient history of Kerala as does all the other museums of India. Hill Palace Archaeological Museum contains old paintings, sculptures in stone and marble, coins, weapons, etc. Kerala Science and Technology Museum is a home to galleries related to electrical, electronics, mechanical, automobile and bio-medical engineering. Kerala Folklore Museum is a home to over 4000 artifacts. Some of the exhibits of Napier Museum are bronze idols, ivory carvings, ancient ornaments and a temple chariot. Kuthiramalika Palace Museum exhibits ivory inlaid cots and seats, musical instruments, etc. Bay Island Driftwood Museum houses a collection of superior quality driftwood articles of very high artistic value. Some of the exhibits of the Archaeological Museum in Thrissur are models of ancient temples, manuscripts written on dry palm leaves, excavated materials from megalithic sites like beads, iron implements etc. Pazhassi Raja Archaeological Museum is a storehouse of pottery, sculpture, coins, models of temples etc. Krishna Menon Museum contains personal belongings and souvenirs of renowned statesman, late V. K. Krishna Menon. Arrakkal Museum is a depository of old types of pots, cots and seats, costumes, lamps used by the family, etc.
