Mazhar Ali Azhar, also known as Maulana Mazhar Ali Azhar, born on 13 March 1895, was the one of the founders and leaders of the political party Majlis E Ahrar Ul Islam, also known as Majlis E Ahrar E Islam or simply as Ahrar. It was an Indian conservative Sunni Muslim political party that existed during the rule of the British Empire in India. The party played a significant role in the Indian political scenario before to the Partition of India.
Mazhar Ali Azhar was a noted and respected Indian freedom fighter and political figure in British India. He was elected for 3 times to the Punjab Assembly and served from the year 1924 to 1926 and from the year 1934 to 1945. He also led the Tehreek E Madh E Sahabah in Lucknow in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. Mazhar Ali Azhar died on 4 November 1974.
