Lakshmi Ganapati is one of the thirty-two forms of Lord Ganesha. The Lord is worshipped in this form by the devotees for achieving success and wealth. One of the striking features of the Lakshmi Ganapati form is that Lord Ganesha is encompassed by His wives Buddhi and Siddhi.
In this manifestation, the elephant-faced Hindu god is presented with eight hands which carry different objects, such as, a parrot, a pomegranate or a mango, white lotus, a golden Kamandalu (sacred pot for storing water), a noose, a goad, a branch of kalpataru, and an arrow or a sword. Lakshmi Ganapati is conceived with white complexion and three eyes. He carries a disc and a tusk in his two hands. One of the hands displays the Abhaya Mudra (yoga mudra) and the fourth hand holds Goddess Lakshmi, who is seated in His lap. The two consorts of Lord Ganesha, Buddhi (wisdom) and Siddhi (achievement) also sit on His lap. When a devotee worships the Lakshmi Ganapati form of Ganesha, he is blessed with success, good fortune and wealth.
Lakshmi Ganapati removes the obstacles that rise in the path of His worshippers. Asta Ganapati is worshipped and prayed in the same manner as the worship of Asta Lakshmi. The Lakshmi Ganapati Mantra or Stotram is recited by His devotees to worship Lord Lakshmi Ganapati. The devotional hymn is mentioned below-
Om Namo Vignarajaya Sarva Soukhya Pradaayine
Dushtarishta Vinashaya Paraya Paramathmane.
Lambodaram Mahaveeryam Nagayagnopa Shobhitham
Ardhra Chandra Dharma Devam Vigna Vyuha Vinashanam.
