Karmanghat Hanuman Temple was constructed in 12th century A.D. According to history once a ruler of the Kakatiya Dynasty was out for hunting. He was resting under a tree when he heard the names of Lord Rama being recited. He began searching for the voice and discovered a stone idol of Lord Hanuman in a seated posture in the middle of forest. To his astonishment he saw that the voice was coming out from the idol. He bowed in front of the idol and returned back to his town. He saw Lord Hanuman in his dream who instructed him to build a temple. As per the instructions he built the temple that was well maintained by the successive rulers.

Almost after 400 years Aurangzeb during his reign sent his force to destroy all the Hindu temples. However, the army could not enter the premises of Karmanghat Hanuman Temple. They reported the matter to Aurangzeb. The king then himself went with a crow bar to destroy the temple. When he reached at the entrance of the temple he heard a roaring noise that sounded like that of thunder. Out of fear the crowbar slipped from his hands. The voice instructed him not to destroy the temple. The king abided by the words and returned back with his army. In the Karmanghat Hanuman Temple the idol of the Lord is in a seated posture. Devotees from different places visit the temple.
