Jamiat Ulema E Hind, also known as Jamiat Ulema I Hind, literally meaning Organization of Indian Scholars, was one of the foremost Islamic associations in India during the rule of the British Empire in India. The organisation was established by Abdul Bari Firangi Mehli, Ahmed Saeed Dehlvi, Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Abdul Mohasim Sajjad in the year 1919. Jamiat Ulema E Hind firmly opposed the formation of Pakistan as a separate Muslim state.
The Jamiat Ulema E Hind had an organizational network that was spread through out the country. The association also published an Urdu daily journal titled Al Jamiyat. At present, the Jamiat Ulema E Hind organisation is divided into 2 distinct factions.
