CottonEstablishment of industries in India has a rich past. Industry was and still can be called the life-blood of a developing country. India falls under the category of a developing country, whose beginnings can be credited to the British Empire in the bygone centuries. British administration had much to do with India growing up into a country which became instilled in Westernisation. Prior to British rule, India was essentially a country which looked to a monarchical rule of administration. Kings, queens and dynastic system had prevailed. However, after the British arrival, Indian government never was the same like before. The British East India Company established business transaction with Indian wealthy merchants, thereby paving the way for future establishment of Indian industries.

Indian industries since its establishment witnessed major changes to befit the changing socio political scenario. It was in the 19th century, Indian industries received a tremendous growth when magnum factories had already been planned and charted to being built. Industries related to agriculture, fabric, leather, paper, processed food began to be founded by the side of major port cities and rivers. Such trade business and its impact on common population was a kind of breakaway from the Mughal system of industrialisation. Indians were slowly made to adapt themselves to the custom of English way of living.

Establishment of Indian industries started with the significant development of tea drinking in day to day life. The history of beginning of tea industry in India is thus laced with wonder and a curious story of evolvement. Beginning in the early centuries and coming down to collaboration of Indians and British, tea is such an industry that received momentous admiration from both the upper and lower stratum of society.

As times progressed, India witnessed loads of industrial developments, which came up in several parts of the country. In the beginnings of British advent, they had a plan to establish and solidify trade and business transactions with Indian imperials. However, in time, intensions changed rapidly on the English front and things became brutal. The 19th century was the prolonged era, which went through every kind of turbulence. The period also grounded other establishment of Indian industries, at times with assistance of Indians too. Cotton was such an industry, which improved in leaps and bounds, thus establishing factories around the port cities of India. Thus, the history of establishment of cotton industry in India, is one of supreme importance, due to the fabric`s suiting every need of common man.
