Major Somnath Sharma
Major Somnath Sharma is known to be the first recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, which is India`s highest military ornament. He had fought in Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. Piru Singh Shekhawat
Piru Singh Shekhawat, a Param Vir Chakra awardee was an Indian Army non-commissioned officer. He had served in the British Indian Army and the Indian Army. He was posted to the 1st Punjab Regiment. He is known to provide service on the North-West Frontier. He even participated in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947 and served in the Indian Army`s 6th Rajputana Rifles.

Captain Vikram Batra
Captain Vikram Batra, a Param Vir Chakra awardee is known for his valor, during the 1999 Kargil War in Kashmir between India and Pakistan. He piloted one of the difficult operations in mountain warfare in Indian history.

Subedar Yogendra Singh Yadav
Subedar Yogendra Singh Yadav is known to be the youngest person to receive Param Vir Chakra. He is a soldier and a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Indian Army. He is renowned for his valor during the Kargil War.
