Huliyurdurga Fort is located in Tumkuru district in Karnataka. The fort is locally known as "Kumbi Betta". It is one of the "Navadurgas" of "Nine Forts" around Bengaluru. The fort was built by Kempegowda II and was conquered by the British and Tiger of Mysuru, Tipu Sultan. The ruins of the fortress lie on the top of the hill along with a temple of the Lord Varadaraja also known as "Hemagiri Ayyappa".
