Guma is a census town situated in the North 24 Parganas district of the eastern state of India, West Bengal. The town comes under the jurisdiction of the Habra Police station of the Barasat Sadar subdivision. The nearest railway station is at Barasat on the Sealdah - Bongaion branch line of Eastern Railways. Sealdah station is 38 m. from Guma. The demography of the area as published in the 2001 India census report, throws some light on the several aspects of the town. Guma had a population of 9297. Males constitute 51% of the population and females constitute 49% of the population. In Guma, 13% of the population is less than six years of age. The literacy rate of the town is 72%, which is higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 78% and the female literacy rate is 65%.
