Kanika Bandyopadhyay
Kanika Bandyopadhyay is an epitome of Rabindrasangeet. Born in Bankura district of West Bengal, she was trained in Rabindrasangeet as well as Indian classical music at Shantiniketan. She was fortunate enough to have been trained by the composer of Rabindrasangeet, Rabindranath Tagore himself. Her singing had the power to evoke profound emotions among the audiences. Her talent and melodious voice gave her immense acclamation and she had been invited from different parts of the world to give her divine renditions of Rabindrasangeet. In 1997, she was offered the highest accolade, the Desikottama by Visva-Bharati.

Female Singers of Rabindrasangeet Suchitra Mitra
Suchitra Mitra is another exponent of Rabindrasangeet. Apart from being a famous Rabindrasangeet singer she had also worked as a professor for many years in Rabindra Sangeet Department at the Rabindra Bharati University. Suchitra Mitra had received her training in this genre of music from some Rabindrasangeet maestro`s viz. Shailajaranjan Mazumdar, Santidev Ghosh and Indiradevi Chaudhurani. Her expertise and unique interpretations of Rabindrasangeet left a deep impact on the audience even after her demise. This versatile singer was awarded with Padma Shri in the year 1974.

Rajasree Mukherjee
The melodious voice and expertise of Rajasree Mukherjee has given her country wide recognition as a talented Rabindrasangeet singer. She is also known as a great trainer of this genre of music.

Ruma Guha Thakurata Ruma Guha Thakurata is a famous Rabindrasangeet singer belonging to Brahmo Bengali family. She was born in the year 1934 and her mother, Sati Devi, was also a talented singer in a Brahmo family. Ruma Guha Thakurta had received Soviet Land Nehru Peace Award, the President`s Medal, Banga Ratna and Bharat Nirman Award for her excellent performances.

Female Singers of Rabindrasangeet Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta
Another notable female rabindrasangeet singer is Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta. She has pursued her master`s degree in Music from Rabindra Bharati University. She had also received training in classical music from her father Pabitra Dasgupta and in Rabindrasangeet from Maya Sen. Apart from giving admirable performances in Rabindrasangeet, she is also working as a lecturer of Music Department in Rabindra Bharati University.

Banani Ghosh
Banani Ghosh is another exponent of Rabindrasangeet. Her expertise however also spans to other genres of music. She was trained in Hindustani Classical Music in Shantiniketan. She had imparted training of Rabindrasangeet to the students across the globe. Banani Ghosh played a crucial role in popularizing Rabindrasangeet in countries other than India. She was often referred as `nakal mohar` owing to her strike similarity of singing style with her guru Kanika Bandyopadhyay.

Srabani Sen
Srabani Sen is another Female Rabindrasangeet Singer who has gained remarkable fame in this genre of singing. This daughter of the renowned singer Sumitra Sen had started her career as a journalist in Bengali magazine Manorama but later opted music as a full time career.

Shreya Guhathakurta
Shreya Guhathakurata, renowned Rabindrasangeet singer, has inherited this legacy from her musical family. She had been trained in this field since a very small age of 4. Her formal training was completed from Dakshinee. Her soulful renditions have popularized her throughout the world and she had given performances in Singapore, Canada, U.K, Berlin and Australia. She also owns the credit of directing the traditional style of singing towards a new style.

Lopamudra Mitra
Lopamudra Mitra has also acquired substantial fame in Rabindrasangeet, apart from other genres of music. She was a born and brought up in Kolkata. Her classical music training started since a small age. Lopamudra Mitra also achieved several awards owing to her versatility of singing and marvellous renditions of Rabindrasangeet.

Jayati Chakraborty
Prominent female Rabindrasangeet singers also enlist Jayati Chakraborty, who had mesmerized her audiences through her amazing performances. She had been trained and performing since a very small age. Jayati Chakraborty had done playback singing in movies, tele-films and tele-serials.
