Farakka Barrage Township is located in Murshidabad district of the eastern state of India, West Bengal. Berhampore, an important town is situated in the northwest at a distance of 98 km. and 87 km. in the northwest is the district headquarters, Murshidabad. The other important places surrounding the township are Gopalpur and Tildanga. The nearest railway station is the New Farakka Junction Railway station.
By the West Bank of the Feeder Canal, on the banks of the Ganga River are the Farakka Barrage and the Farakka Thermal Power Plant.
