Dyutimat was the king of Krauncha Dwipa, where the inhabitants resided without apprehension, associating with the bands of divinities. The king had a son named Rajavat.

Dyutimat is one of the ten sons of Priyavrata. The three brothers of Dyutimat adopted a religious life. King Priyavrata having divided the earth into seven continents and gave them respectively to his other seven sons. They are as follows:

1. Dwipa of Jambu was given to Agnidhra
2. Dwipa of Plaksha was given to Medhatithi
3. Dwipa of Salmali was given to Vapushmat
4. Dwipa of Kusa was given to Jyotishmat
5. Dwipa of Krauncha was given to Dyutimat
6. Dwipa of Saka was given to Bhavya
7. Dwipa of Pushkara was given to Savala
