Digambar Jain Teerth

Shri Digambar Jain Teerth located in Rishbhanchal in Uttar Pradesh is a Jain pilgrimage centre. It has been recently developed and is centre for practicing yoga, meditation and to provide treatment to sufferers. Shri Rishbhanchal Teerth is located on Delhi-Meerut highway at 8 km ahead from Ghaziabad. It is located on 10,000 square yards of area.

History of Rishbhanchal
According to history Shri Rishbhanchal Teerth is named on the name of first Tirthankara Bhagwan Rishabh Dev. The name of this local area was kept as `Vardhamanpuram.` It was kept after the name of last 24th Tirthankara Lord Mahavira whose earlier name was Vardhamana. This Digambar Jain Teerth has been established and developed under the inspiration of Poojya Maa Shri Kaushalji. Rishbhanchal acts as a centre of practicing Yoga. The centre is open to all irrespective of cast and faith.

Temple of Digambar Jain Teerth
The temple at Digambar Jain Teerth houses the idol of Bhagwan Rishabh Dev. The idol is four and half feet in height and is seated in a padmasana position. It has been installed in the Garbhagriha of the temple. The beautiful idol is black in colour and has been magnificently carved. It imparts the message of non affection ness. The Ashoka tree, three umbrellas and whisks adorn the idol on its back side. The temple is decorated with sky high pinnacle that is almost 81 feet in height. There are 52 Kalasha i.e. a pot kept on the top of the pinnacle that enhances the beauty of the temple. The pinnacle has been magnificently embellished and is a superb piece art work. The installation of the idol had a soothing effect on the place. It is said that even the snakes and mongooses live together in peace. On the day 20th April 1997 the President of India Dr. Shri Shankar Dayalji Sharma decorated the top of pinnacle by his hands.

Apart from this there are many other Jain temples located in Rishbhanchal. The ancient Digambara Jain Mandir located at Clock Tower is very attractive and is worth visiting. Another temple, Shri Parshvanatha Digambar Jain Mandir Kavinagar is also visited by many devotees.

Temple of Digambar Jain Teerth organises many annual gatherings. Every year Rishabh Dev Prize Ceremony is organised on 26th May. People with high potential in different fields as well as in various aspects of life are honored. Representatives and Ministers of State and Central Government are also invited at this function. The temple also has provisions for dharamshalas or rest houses for the pilgrims. These are well equipped with modern facilities.

Temple of Digambar Jain Kshetra is well connected to road, rail and air. All buses from Ghaziabad to Meerut pass through Rishbhanchal. The nearest railway station is the Ghaziabad Railway Station. Taxies or auto are easily available here for Ghaziabad Bus Stand that reaches to Rishbhanchal. The nearest airport is located at Delhi that is located at a distance of 35 km.
