Dainhat is a city and also a municipality under the jurisdiction of the Katwa police station in the Barddhaman district in the state of West Bengal in India.
As per the 2001 India census Dainhat has a population of 22,593. Males represent 51% of the population and females make up 49%. The city has an average literacy rate of 66%, which is higher than the national average of 59.5%. The male literacy is 72% and the female literacy is 59%. In Dainhat, 12% of the population is children less than 6 years of age. The city has twenty primary schools, one upper primary school, two secondary schools and one higher secondary school.
