Barjora is a town of the Bankura District in West Bengal.

Barjora is a census town situated in the Bankura District in the western part of the state of West Bengal in India. It is included under the Bardhaman Division and is a part of the area known as "Rarh" in West Bengal. The exact geographical location of the district is between latitude 22038` N and longitude 86036` E to 87047` E. The Damodar River runs parallel to the northern boundary of the district. The adjoining districts are the Bardhaman District in the north, the Purulia District in the west and the Paschim Medinipur district in the south. The district contitutes 3 sub- divisions namely the Bankura sub- division, the Bishnupur sub- division and the Khatra sub- division. In all there are twenty-two blocks. The Bankura sub- division includes the blocks of Onda, Saltora, Gangajal Ghati, Barjora, Bankura I, Bankura II, Chhatna and Mejhia. The blocks of Jaypur, Indus, Kotalpur, Bishnupur, Patrasayar and Indpur are a part of the Bishnupur sub- division. The Khatra sub- division constitutes the blocks of Khatra, Raipur, Ranibundh, Hirbundh, Indpur, Sarenga, Taldangra and Simlapal. The district has 22 police stations, 190-gram panchayats and 5187 villages. Bankura is well known for its prehistoric monument and terracotta horses, specifically known as Bankura horses. Other crafts include dokra and baluchari saris. The exact geographical located of Barjora is at 23.43° North and 87.28° East. It has a mean elevation of 75 metres (246 feet).

As per the 2001 India census, Barjora has a population of 11,509. Males make up 52% of the population and females comprise 48%. The town has a mean literacy rate of 73%, higher than the nationwide standard of 59.5%. 57% of the males and 43% of the females are literate. 9% of the population is children under six years of age.
