Andeshwar Parshwanath Jain Temple

Shri Andeshwar Parshwanath Jain temple is situated in Rajasthan. It is an important Jain pilgrimage centre. The holy Place is located 40 km from Banswara District. This atshay place is present in the dense forest on a small hill at a distance of 50 kms from Udaygarh station. The Jain temple is 15 kms towards west of Kushalgarh while 8 kms towards east side of Kalingada. Banswad is situated at 163 kms from Udaipur, 74 kms from Ratlam and 50 km north of Dahod. The teerth is situated on kushalgarh-kalizara road.

There are three temples on the forest hill. Among them two Digambar temples are of Lord Parshvanatha out of that one is built up by Shri Digambar Jain Panchayat Kushalgarh in 1992. The idol has been magnificently carved out. Many popular legends are associated with the Atishay temple. The principal idol of Lord Parshvanatha is black in colour and is around 80 cms tall. It is surmounted with seven hoods. According to legends associated with the idol, it was discovered by tribes of those regions when they were cultivating the field. The idol was dug out and installed in a newly constructed temple. The idol is transcendental and worshipped and revered not only by the members of Jain Community but also by other castes.

A fair is organized every year on the day of kartik purnima i.e. fifteenth lunar day of hindi month kartik. The fair is visited by people from the neighbouring towns and villages.
