88th Indian Infantry Brigade

88th Indian Infantry Brigade was an army formation under the British Indian Army. The infantry formation remained in service for a brief period from the year 1942 to 1943.

The 88th Indian Infantry Brigade was an army formation that functioned under the British Indian Army during the Second World War. The infantry formation remained in service for a brief period from the year 1942 to 1943. The brigade was raised at Chittagong in September 1942 under the British Empire in India. The 88th Indian Infantry Brigade was attached to the 14th Indian Infantry Division.

It was entrusted with the protection of the Lines of Communications of the Divisions. The troops of the brigade were sent to Burma to take part in the Burma Campaign in the South-East Asian Theatre of the Second World War. The 88th Indian Infantry Brigade was dissolved on 8 May 1943.

The 88th Indian Infantry Brigade was formed with the following infantry regiments-
• 5/9th Jat Regiment (September 1942 - April 1943)
• 14/12th Frontier Force Regiment (October 1942 - May 1943)
• 1/16th Punjab Regiment (September 1942 - February 1943)
