Gambhirgad Fort is located 58 km away from Dahanu town
in Palghar District
. The fort is now in ruins, which need restorations. The fort was a part of the Jawhar State. When Jayabha Mukne became sole master of Jawhar, he then gave the Gambhirgad Fort to a Warli chief. Later, it was owned by Jawhar State government
. There are water cisterns, bastion and small temple inside the fort campus.
