80th Indian Infantry Brigade

80th Indian Infantry Brigadewas formed in April 1942 by the British Government of India during the outbreak of the Second World War. It was allotted to the 20th Indian Infantry Division.

The 80th Indian Infantry Brigade was one of the infantry forces of the British Indian Army. The brigade was formed in April 1942 by the British Government of India during the outbreak of the Second World War. The military formation remained in active service from the year 1942 to 1945. The 80th Indian Infantry Brigade was allotted to the 20th Indian Infantry Division. The brigade served under the 20th Division till the end of World War II.

The troops took part in a number military operation and campaigns under the British administration. Later it was sent to Burma and fought in the Burma Campaign in the South East Asian Theatre of the Second World War.

* 1st Devonshire Regiment (May 1942 - April 1945)
* 5/19th Hyderabad Regiment (July 1942 - July 1943)
* 3/1st Gurkha Rifles (July 1943 - August 1945)
* 9/12th Frontier Force Regiment (July 1942 - February 1944; April 1944 - April 1945)
* 4/17th Dogra Regiment (April 1945 - August 1945)
* 2/8th Gurkha Rifles (April 1945 - May 1945)
* 1/19th Hyderabad Regiment (April 1945 - August 1945)
* 4/2nd Gurkha Rifles (March 1945 - April 1945)
