Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary
Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Rajsamand district. It is spread over an area of about 578 square kilometers. This sanctuary serves as a home to a variety of wildlife like wolf, leopards, sloth bear, etc. This sanctuary is associated with foot tracking and horse safari, which are organized by local tour operators.
Tal Chhapar Sanctuary
Tal Chhapar Sanctuary is located in the Churu district of northwestern Rajasthan in the Shekhawati region of India. The sanctuary area is a flat saline depression and is blessed with a unique ecosystem. It is mostly covered with grasses with a very few trees. Tal Chhapar is noted for providing shelter to blackbuck. Apart from black buck, this sanctuary comprises of harriers, eastern imperial eagle, tawny eagle, etc.
Sawai Man Singh Wildlife Sanctuary
Sawai Man Singh Wildlife Sanctuary is located at a distance of around 10 km from the mainland of Modhpur city. It occupies an area of about 113.07square kilometers. It was established in the year 1984 with the aim to preserve wildlife genetics. This sanctuary has dense vegetation. Species like hyena, sloth bear, chinkara, jackal, nilgai, etc comprise the fauna of this sanctuary.
Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary
Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Aravalli Range. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1980 and spread over an area of about 288 square kilometers. The flora of this sanctuary comprises of 112 plant families with 449 genera and 820 species. More specifically, this sanctuary serves as a home to about 81 species of trees, 89 species of shrubs, etc. Highly rare, threatened and endangered animals have been traced in this wildlife sanctuary.
Sita Mata Wildlife Sanctuary
Sita Mata Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the southeastern portion of the Pratapgarh district. It occupies an area of about 422.95 square kilometers. It was established on 1st of November, 1979. The occupants of this sanctuary are mammals, about 108 varieties of high value medicinal herbs, trees like babool, neem, etc.
