77th Indian Infantry Brigade

The military formation of 77th Indian Infantry Brigade served as a part of the British Indian Army during the outbreak of the Second World War. It remained in active service from the year 1942 till 1945. The brigade was raised by the British Empire in India in June 1942.

The 77th Indian Infantry Brigade was attached to the British Indian Chindits Special Force. The brigade was organized in 8 detachments and the troops were sent to serve in Burma in 1943. The 77th Indian Parachute Brigade was raised from the brigade in March 1945. It was then allotted to the Indian 44th Airborne Division.
