Aundha Naganath is located under the jurisdiction of Hingoli District of Maharashtra. It is a tehsil in Basmat Subdivision of Hingoli district in Marathwada region of the Indian state of Maharashtra.
Temple of Aundha Naganath
The town is known for Aundha Nagnath Temple, which dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple was constructed by the kings of Chalukya Dynasty, with some old rock formation. Aundha Naganath claims it to be one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. It is a pilgrim centre of great significance, since it is considered to be the eight (aadya) of the 12 Jyotirlingas in the country.
