Location of Wargal Saraswati Temple
Wargal Saraswati Temple is located in Medak district in Telangana. The temple is situated on a hillock near Wargal village.
Foundation of Wargal Saraswati Temple
The Wargal Saraswati Temple was built by Sri Yamavaram Chandrashekhar Sharma a scholar and adherent of Goddess Saraswati. The temple foundation stone was laid in 1989. On 1992 Sri Vidya Nrusinha Bharati Swamy has laid the foundation to the statues of Goddess Saraswati and Lord Shani. Now it is maintained by Kanchi Mutt.
Idol at Wargal Saraswati Temple
The Wargal Saraswati Temple is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati. The Garbhagriha is located at a level nearly equivalent to the third floor. The Goddess is seen to be in full glory decorated with a lot of jewels and garlands and adorned in a saree. There is an idol of Goddess about 10 feet high in front of the temple, which is a magnificent piece of art.
Significance of Wargal Saraswati Temple
Since the temple is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati; it is visited by many education enthusiasts. Various families flock to the temple for their children’s ‘Akshara Abhyasam’ or learning ceremony. Free meals are also provided to the devotees called ‘Nitya Annadanam’.
Festivals at Wargal Saraswati Temple
Vasant Panchami, Sharad Navaratri and Shani Tryodasi festivals are being celebrated in a grand manner in this temple. ‘Moola Nakshatram’ (Birth star of Goddess Saraswati) is the most auspicious day for worshiping Saraswati Devi. During this day special rituals are performed at the temple.
Veda Paathashaala at Wargal Saraswati Temple
With the aim of spreading knowledge of Veda, a Veda Paathashaala was added on the premises of the temple. There are about 300 students who are provided accommodation on the temple premises.

Tourists can also visit the nearby holy shrines of Wargal Saraswati temple. In the vicinity, there is Lord Shiva Temple, Lakshmi Ganapathi Temple, Shani Temple and Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple. All these temples are ancient and have historic significance. Then Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is located just 15 km away from Wargal. Another temple that is Lord Venkateshwar Swamy Temple located near Shamirpet, can also be visited. Surrounding this temple were two ancient Vaishnava Temples which were built during or before the Kakatiya rulers. There is a big Victory Pillar made of rock which is around 30 feet in height. The Victory Pillar has the statues of Sita-Rama-Lakshmana, Goddess Lakshmi and entwined couple of snakes.

Kacheguda Railway Station and Hyderabad Deccan Railway Station are the Railway stations reachable from nearby towns. People can utilise roadway to reach the temple as a good number of bus services are available from varied places. One can book TSRTC buses that are available every 10 minutes from Jubilee Bus Station.
