71st Indian Infantry Brigade

71st Indian Infantry Brigade was formed in March 1942 as a part of the British Indian Army and remained active till 1945. It was attached to 26th Indian Infantry Division.

The 71st Indian Infantry Brigade was one of the former infantry formations under the administration of the British Empire in India during the Second World War. The brigade was formed at Nowshera in March 1942 as a part of the British Indian Army and remained active till 1945. It was then attached to the 26th Indian Infantry Division. Later the troops were assigned to the 14th Indian Infantry Division in 1943. It provided military service in the Arakan Campaign from 1942 to 1943.

The troops took part in a number of battles and campaigns under the British administration. The infantry brigade also served in the military operations in the Mayu River valley. In May 1943, it was again assigned to the 26th Indian Infantry Division and served till the end of World War II.

* 1/17th Dogra Regiment (March 1943 - May 1943)
* 8/13th Frontier Force Rifles (May 1943)
* 5/1st Punjab Regiment (August 1943 - August 1945)
* 10th Lancashire Fusiliers (April 1943 - May 1943)
* 1st The Lincolnshire Regiment (August 1945)
* 9/15th Punjab Regiment (March 1942 - August 1943)
* 2/8th Punjab Regiment (May 1943)
* 1/18th Royal Garhwal Rifles (August 1943 - August 1945)
* 6th South Wales Borderers (July 1945 - August 1945)
