Ganesh Hegde is a prominent Indian choreographer who works primarily in Bollywood. He is best recognized for his choreography in the Oscar nominated Bollywood flick Lagaan. Apart from films he has also gathered appreciations for his work at stage shows. He has worked as judge for a few dance based shows in television including Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii Yaar and Fame X. Ganesh Hegde has also ventured in the field of singing and has launched his music album.
Early Life of Ganesh Hegde
Ganesh Hegde was born in the year 1974 in Mumbai. His parents are Vidya Hegde and Harish Subbaiah Hegde. He has completed his education from Umedbhai Patel English School and P.D. Lions College in Mumbai.
Career of Ganesh Hegde as a Choreographer
Ganesh Hegde has choreographed a number of dance sequences for several movies including Lagaan, Black, Koi... Mil Gaya, Ra.one, Ajab Gazabb Love, Company, Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, Aankhen and many others. He has also choreographed a number of stage shows including Temptations 2004 and the Bollywood rock concert which toured America and involved stars like Arjun Rampal, Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherjee and Shahrukh Khan. For the past decade he has also worked as a choreographer with Filmfare Awards and has been associated with Zee Cine Awards. Some of the dance sequences which conferred him huge popularity include "Dum" from the movie Dum, "It's Magic" from the movie Koi... Mil Gaya, "Chammak Challo" from Ra.one and "Main Hoon Don" from Don - The Chase Begins Again.
Ganesh Hegde is also accredited with the introduction and promotion of the concepts of item number and item girl through songs such as "Khallas" in the film Company starring Isha Khoppikar and "Mast Mahaul Mein Jeene De" form the movie Fiza starting Sushmita Sen. He also launched the career of Yana Gupta, the Indian model, by choreographing the song "Babuji" from the film Dum.
Career of Ganesh Hegde as a Singer
Ganesh Hegde began his singing career in October 2005 with the album "G" which was promoted by the Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan. He also owns the credit of being the first Indian to produce, direct, write and act in his debut music video. He had also performed with Asha Bhosle on stage shows. In the second pop album of Ganesh Hegde, Let's party, he had sung a duet with Asha Bhosle in August 2011. The songs of the album features Bollywood actors like Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra. Ganesh Hegde has sung the rap promo song for Kaun Banega Crorepati, 'Ek Sawaal Ka Sawaal Hai' in its third season when it was hosted by Shahrukh Khan. Hegde had also conceptualized the video for the song.

Ganesh Hegde is married to Sunayna Shetty, a stylist by profession, since 5th June 2011.
