The Allahabad Volunteer Rifle Corps regiment was a former infantry unit that functioned under the Volunteer Corps of the British Indian Army. The military force was a part British Colonial Auxiliary Forces in India. The regiment was raised on 12th September 1884 as the Allahabad Troop Light Horse by the British administration in India.
The troops of the Allahabad Volunteer Rifle Corps took part in a number of military conflicts and conquests under the British administration. Later in 1890, the infantry unit was re-designated as Allahabad Light Horse.
