Dhanesvara Ganesha is one of the thirty-two forms of Lord Ganesha. In this form Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the Lord of Wealth. He is generally associated with Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and fortune. Thus, Ganesha is also known as Dhanesvara. It is widely believed that the combined worship of Lakshmi and Ganesha will bring success and prosperity and will remove the negative effects of evil spirits.
On the auspicious day of Diwali, Ganesha is adored as Dhanesvara in the beginning of the ritual and Lakshmi is worshiped as Maha Lakshmi, Maha Kali and Maha Saraswati. Lord Kuber, generally considered the god of all riches, is also worshipped.
