Chandi Vinayaka or Candi Vinayak is one of the forms of Lord Ganesha. Chandi Vinayaka is associated with Chandi, also known as Ran Chandi and Chandika. Chandi is form of Goddess Durga (Chamunda). It is believed that if a devotee worships Lord Ganesha and Goddess Chandi together then he will be blessed with success and happiness.
Chandi is depicted as the supreme reality and is an amalgamation of Maha Saraswati, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Kali. The Goddess is described as a great energy. She assigned Lord Shiva as her messenger to the demons or asuras Nisumbha and Sumbha. Another legend mentions that the Goddess is known as Chandi as she annihilated the asura Chanda. Although there are not many Puranic references to the significance of the Chandi Vinayaka form but still the combination of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Chandi is of utmost importance.
