The name Udanti has derived from the Udanti River. The topography of the region is mainly hilly and some parts are plain landform. Udanti Wildlife Sanctuary is known for its efforts to preserve the endangered species of wild buffaloes. From the state capital of Chhattisgarh, Raipur, Udanti Wild Life Sanctuary is at a distance of 160 km. The tourists from outside Chhattisgarh can avail the facility of the Raipur airport. The sanctuary can be reached through the weather roads in the district. Rail and bus service can also be availed from Rajim To reach the Udanti Wildlife Sanctuary, one is required to go to the nearest Railway Station is Rajim (115 Kms). The main Station near Udanti Wildlife Sanctuary is Raipur (170 Kms.) on Mumbai-Howrah railway line. The principal approach Road is Raipur-Rajim-Gariaband-Mainpur-Deobhog PWD all weather road. Prior permission is required to enter the Udanti Sanctuary. It can be had from Divisional Forest Officer, Wild life Division, Old Chhattisgarh College Campus of Raipur. |
