43rd Indian Infantry Brigade (Lorried)

43rd Indian Infantry Brigade (Lorried) was raised from the 3rd Indian Motor Brigade in 1943. It was formed as an infantry formation as a part of the British Indian Army.

The 43rd Indian Infantry Brigade (Lorried) was formed as an infantry formation as a part of the British Indian Army. It was founded under the administration of the British Empire in India for service during the Second World War. The brigade was raised from the 3rd Indian Motor Brigade in 1943. The unit comprised of regular Gurkha infantry battalions instead of cavalry regiment. The infantry brigade was also known as 43rd Independent Gurkha Infantry Brigade and 43rd Gurkha Lorried Infantry Brigade.

The troops of the 43rd Indian Infantry Brigade (Lorried) were attached with the 10th Indian Infantry Division, 8th Indian Infantry Division and the Indian 4th Infantry Division during the Italian Campaign of World War II.
