IIFA Awards or International Indian Film Academy Awards is an esteemed award ceremony, organized annually, where the International Indian Film Academy honours the film personalities belonging to the Hindi film industry for their artistic and technical excellence. It also promotes the Indian cinema overseas contributing in the development of the film industry. The year 2000 marks the inception of IIFA Awards and since then it is organized in various destinations all around the globe, every year. The event continues for three days during which awards are presented under various categories as recognition to the works of film professionals in different cinematic arenas.
15th IIFA Awards
15th IIFA Awards ceremony was organized from 23rd to 26th of April in the year 2014 to commemorate the best movies of the year 2013. It was held at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, in the United States. The event was co-hosted by Farhan Akhtar and Shahid Kapoor. IIFA Awards for Best Villain category in 2013 had the nominations of some prominent actors of Bollywood who stunned the viewers with their excellent portrayals of negative role. The nominations for this award included Rishi Kapoor for D-Day, Rishi Kapoor for Aurangzeb, Supriya Pathak for Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Vivek Oberoi for Krrish 3. The award was won by Rishi Kapoor for the movie Aurangzeb.

Rishi Kapoor is a veteran Bollywood actor, film director and producer. Throughout his career he has ruled over the Hindi film industry with his acting versatility. His proficiency in essaying diverse roles has made him one of the most popular actors of India. Rishi Kapoor portrayed the role of DCP Ravikant Phogat in the 2013 movie Aurangzeb. His villainous appearance in the film received much appreciation from critics as well as viewers.
