3rd Sikh Pioneers

3rd Sikh Pioneers Regiment was formed during 1922 Indian Army reformations. It was raised in 1921 by the joining 34th Royal Sikh Pioneers, 32nd Sikh Pioneers and 23rd Sikh Pioneers.

The 3rd Sikh Pioneers Regiment was amongst the most prominent infantry units that belonged to the British Indian Army. The British Government of India re-numbered and re-established the entire line of regiments of the Indian Army, after the First World War. In the year 1922, a number large multi battalion infantry regiments were formed by the amalgamation of the single battalion infantry units. Each of these larger regiments comprised of 4 to 6 battalions.

History of 3rd Sikh Pioneers
The 3rd Sikh Pioneers was one of 4 main Pioneer regiments, including the 4th Hazara Pioneers, the 2nd Bombay Pioneers and the 1st Madras Pioneers, which were established during 1922 Indian Army reformations. It was raised in the year 1921 by the joining of its 3 sister units of the Sikh Pioneers, namely the 34th Royal Sikh Pioneers, the 32nd Sikh Pioneers and the 23rd Sikh Pioneers. The 3rd Sikh Pioneers Regiment was eventually re-designated as the Corps of Sikh Pioneers in the year 1929.
