Plant is a power station with 3 MW capacity sited at Chaskaman Dam on Bhima River near Rajgurunagar in Maharashtra. Chaskaman Hydro Power Plant is the second Greenfield Hydel Power Project of the company. The station principally supplies captive power to M/s. Inox Air Products Ltd Company.
The utilizes the power of Maharashtra State Electricity Board for wheeling and banking arrangement. The construction of Chaskaman hydro power plant was started in December 2000 and it started to function officially in July 2002. The equipments included in the Chaskaman Hydro Power Plant are Turbine, Synchronous generator and other accessories. V A Tech Escher Wyss Flowel Ltd of Haryana is the supplier of these equipments.
The Chaskaman dam features a storage capacity of 246 Million Cubic Meters and its Full Reservoir Level (FRL) is around 649.5. The Minimum Draw Down Level (MDDL) for generation of Power of Chaskaman Hydro Power Plant is EL 635.5 meters. 246 MCM of stored water in the Chaskaman reservoir can generate approx. 6.5 Million Units of power. During the monsoons (June to September) the Chaskaman Dam gets more water than its storage capacity of 246 MCM. Generation of power of the Chaskaman Hydro Power Plant during April- May is negligible for irrigation and drinking purpose.
